Unlike natural pearls and cultured pearls

Pearls from antiquity as the queen of gems, as is known, it may seem strange to us now that they are much softer and less durable than most other gemstones, such as diamond, sapphire and ruby. but it's just decoration, not cut or polished to reveal the inner beauty. Nature gives us the finished product, the organic beauty of precious stones.

Natural pearls.

Everyone knows, pearls in oysters, but it is not we order oysters in a restaurant, there are many other kinds of oysters. These shells can be divided into: -

1. marine oysters living in the seas and oceans.

2. freshwater mussels and oysters that live in lakes and rivers.

The body of an oyster is soft and vulnerable, so `S safe bowl. The interior of an oyster shell pearl highlights, which provides a smooth surface for oysters. Sometimes a piece of debris or parasitic worms can get oysters, and because it's annoying. The natural reaction is that interference in the layer of nacre, the same material to cover an even layer of nacre in the form of oyster shell.

Layer upon layer of nacre in the pearl and expanded over the years, not always isolated spherical pearls rule, however, produce an unusual appearance or what is known as a baroque pearl.

Live oysters are placed by divers in the oyster beds on the bottom of the sea and on the surface, they contain only a small part of the pearl oyster. Traditionally, they were found in the Red Sea, Persian Gulf and Gulf of Mannar on the northwestern coast of Sri Lanka. Other pearls, north-west coast of Australia, southern coast of Myanmar, the Sulu Sea, off the coast of New Guinea and Borneo, the Gulf and the Gulf of California coast of Venezuela and Tahiti.

Freshwater pearls are found in rivers of the United Kingdom and in the rivers in the U.S.

Today, many of these fisheries, natural pearls have been exhausted or that the work dangerous and difficult pearl fishing more attractive for local people.

Pearl

Supply of natural pearls is always in short supply in 1920, when Pearl began to appear on the market. In 1921, after many years of experimentation, Mikimoto, a Japanese scientist and businessman, began to distribute their pearls. It was the first spherical cultured pearls was published.

Mikimoto is not the inventor of the process, a few hundred years ago the Chinese discovered that objects placed in the pearl oyster shell will be covered. They placed a tiny metal statue of Buddha in mussels and oysters, then forcing them to produce beautiful little is covered with mother of pearl jewelry.

The Japanese have developed this technique for years to get perfectly spherical beads. Part of the oyster shell called contains cells that secrete calcium carbonate crystal beads. Small bag jacket is cut from living oysters and pearls, which are used. It fits into the case of oysters expire after three years of the incision with a scalpel. The incision is closed ligatures, the process will be treated with antiseptic before the oysters are returned to the sea oysters in cages for several years before being considered recovered.

When pearl oysters harvested pearls are found covered with layers of nacre and the pearl of nature.

This was the original technology, today, other effective methods. In essence, this means that the pearls pearls surrounding them with thick layers of nacre. Although natural pearls are composed entirely of concentric layers of nacre.
